This hotel is good for a base, providing you with good location, amenities and the staff are very
friendly!
Food is in the poor side but eatable...too many places to experience instead of satying in the hotel. I stayed for 5 nights prior to the Red shirt demostration.

The location of the Narai Hotel is excellent - right on Silom Road and within walking distance of some good restaurants (Harmonique, Taling Pling, Ban Chiang and Thanying). The hotel is very much geared towards "package deals" but this did not detract from our stay here. We had a large comfortable room with superb views of Bangkok. Bathroom too was excellent with both a great shower and bath. There is a very good large swimming pool and small pool for kiddies, with ample areas for sunbathing and a well equipped gym. The breakfast which was included in the price was one of the best we have had in a hotel anywhere. Very large selection. There is also a large bar offering happy hour cocktails and then evening entertainment. The restaurant, which we didnīt try, looked good.

Narai hotel exceeded all my expectations. I reserved a room for 28 sqm Deluxe room, but I was upgraded to the 60 sqm Deluxe Sweet room on the 11th floor. The room was exceptional, except for a few quirks. The hotel is unbeatable in terms of location at Silom Road, and services is impeccable. Hotel price is reasonable.
Some westerners still don't give this hotel a fair review, but try staying in four stars hotel in New York, Paris, or Zurich, and Narai Hotel still will outclass them with its services.

The hotel is larger than it seems from the road but service is efficient and check in was quick and painless; a joy after a long-haul flight and long drive from the airport in Bangkok traffic.
The rooms are reasonably sized and clean although the bathrooms are small. If you are two people in the room you will definately have to take turns in the morning. The aircon was blissfully effective if not quite silent. The room was dark and quiet at night (aside from the aircon) and the beds fairly comfortable.
The breakfast was splendid and plentiful and there is a well-equipped and underutilised fitness room. The pool is not so great; very warm water and not clean.
The location of the hotel is near perfect; a short walk to a skytrain stop, 10 minutes to the night market and about 25 minutes walk to the river.

Good location downtown. 10 minute walk to night market. Relatively close to metro and elevated train. Big impersonal hotel. Only real issue was the taxi service leaving the hotel. If you don't use the hotel service, you left to your own means. When we left early in the morning, there was only one taxi cab to negotiate a ride to the airport. We were upgraded to a superior room which was still pretty basic. It was clean and had a safe. Bed was comfortable. We only stayed one night.

This is my second time at the Narai and I hope it won't be my last... We booked a
superior room and were upgraded to a deluxe room. The bed was huge and comfortable. The
rooms well furnished. The bathroom lovely. Rooms were serviced satisfactorily. Breakfast
buffet was YUM! I especially enjoyed the omletes cooked to our specification. Service at
the concierge desk was great. Free shuttle to MBK a bonus. Short walk to night market
and sky train.

When I book a hotel in Bangkok there is one criteria which can't be avoided. It
should be just a walking distance from the nigh life hot spots but not effected by the
noise and hustle coming out form there.Narai is just in the right place. If you go out
from the hotel in the evening, turn left and take a 10-minutes walk along Silom Road you
will get into the heart of famous night market with plenty of bars and clubs around the
area. So, when you feel you are getting tired with this, you can safely come back to the
hotel which by night is very calm. In very same way in the morning, when you go out from
the hotel, now turn right and walk 5 minutes along the Silom, you will soon approach the
Oriental pier (?1) from where you can take adventures boat trip along the Chaopraya
river to the top attractions such as Wat Pho, Grand Palace and Wat Arun. Finally, just a
short walk from the hotel is the BTS station of sky train which will quickly brings you
to Siam Paragon and Central World Palza where you can shop and visit Bangkok Underwater
World.
Another thing that I love about this hotel is breakfast selections which is really great.
The last time I fell on the delicious pan-fried white fish fillets which I've never met
before as breakfast in other hotels.
As for the rooms, they are just OK, a little bit outdated but clean and comfortable
enough, with safe-box and free wifi-Interent. Once, I booked a standard room, but on
arrival the hotel was full and they gave us a deluxe room for the same price, which was
very nice. Also, the last time I was leaving the hotel late in the evening because my
flight home was around 11 p.m. So, after checking out at 12.00 I just left my luggage at
the hotel's cloakroom and went to the city. When I came back to pick up my luggage in the
evening the woman at the reception kindly offered to us a room without extra charge to
take a shower and change our clothes before getting into the taxi to the airport.
As for the money paid, once I tried to opt for better price at the Unico hotel, which is
located just across the road from Narai but then came back to Narai. So, next time I visit Bangkok I'm not going to change the hotel. I usually stay in Bangkok for 2-3 nights before going to the next destination and Narai is very good option for such city break.

Often, value for money comments would find you a place that is good enough to sleep at night and you must not complain because your budget is so limited. However, Narai, is a true blue good value for money. The hotel is in good location along Silom Road. walking slow-ish we got to the closest sky train station in less than 10 mins. There are several local restos dotted along the way. These are like little cafes that serve a mixture of thai and international cuisine that are truly reasonably priced. Massage place with prices ranging from 300 to 500 are numerous along the road. Lun Suam Night market is a short taxi ride away, or try the Tuk tuk (but do not pay more than 100 Baht, it is only 60 by metered taxi). Speaking of taxi's do onlytake the red taxis if you can find them. They are the only ones who use their meters. th epink and green ones are a bargaining pain. It can be amusing but not of you are in a hurry or want to just chill.
Narai has a lavish choice of brekfast in set out in a bright and spacious room. The lobby is not five star presentation but smart and spacious enough. The rooms are good size and very clean. the bathroom (bath's) could use a bit of updating but is still acceptable. the hallways are always smelling lovely courtesy of their lamp scent burners. I actually bought 2 from MBK as it really works well without the worry of candles. The staff are very friendly, efficient and helpful. We arrived before 12 and had only to wait 15 minutes to check in the room. All rooms have free wi-fi. The day we left, we had a huge pile of suitcases and boxes left at the concierge after checking out and there was no problem at all. We did our last amssage next door, some more shopping and came bag to the hotel to collect our bags. In arranging trasport to other places. i.e. Pattaya, we suggest Thai Tourist info as the cheapest way to go as long as you are prepared to go in a shared bus with a little de tour at the airport. Pick up is on time that will bring you to the main terminal/depot, transfer to a big bus then collect people from airport and then off toPattaya termina, transfer to smaller buses that will bring you to the door of your hotel. It'll cost you 400 Baht at most. Funny enough, coming back from Pattaya to airport it only cost us 250Baht.
If you are arriving on a weekend, Saurday, &Sunday market at Chatuchak is highly recommended.
For a little less than 2000 Baht and the comfort it offers. I shall stay at Narai again.

My husband and I stayed here in November 2009 on our vacation. Pros - good variety of items at breakfast buffet, good value for your money - wireless internet in room, pool, modern bathroom, inroom safe, strong air con, mini fridge, TV, location close to Patpong night market and a short tuk tuk ride/Skytrain ride to
the Chao Phraya river boats
Cons - 8 minute walk to Skytrain - at at the end of a long day of sightseeing this last bit was tiring
Overall - recommended for people looking for an affordable place to stay with all the amenities who don't mind an extra bit of a walk to the SkyTrain
Other notes: breakfast buffet had egg station, fruit, pastries, cereals, bacon, pancakes, selection of Asian cuisine - congee,
noodle soup, curries, rice, vegetables

This hotel is on the expensive road in Bangkok. It's location is in front of a busy street but there are also several restaurants and massage shops around that you dont have to go too far. There are many tailor shops around this area. The rooms are big and quite roomy and modern. The breakfast buffet was more than satistying. Near the hotel is a 7-eleven and lots of side road food vendors.

Narai was easy going hotel. Everything worked fine and the room was ok considering the price. Hotel has all the standard services you need ( swimming pool, wireless internet, restaurant and so on) and they work ok. Hotel is ideal for people who want a clean room with good location near the skytrain and a decent price. This was our second visit to this hotel hotel so we knew what to expect and were not disappointed.

This is my second stay in Narai. I love this hotel for its excellent location. You can walk to Patpong for shopping. I got upgraded to the Business floor. The reception staff are friendly and efficient. Wake up calls came on time as requested. The seafood restaurant in the nearby Silom village was good and well priced. The abundance of Indian restaurants around the area is another bonus.
Breakfast : There was a wide variety. But I must admit that the standard has somewhat gone down. The chef who prepared my omelette seemed to be unhappy and told me to come back in 5 minutes although there was no one ahead of me. Would appreciate more choices without Pork.
The Scenery Lounge: Service was top-notch - prompt and polite. The cakes were good. Staff were very polite and greeted us whenever they saw us.

I have stayed in Narai few times in the past. It's a good hotel and nice view from the upper floors of the hotels. Good variety in breakfast.
Location is the best as you are on one of the main road of the city, Silom Road. Lot's of shopping malls, different hotels, Many tourist and many restaurants around serving different cousin including Indian Hut for Indian food, which is closer to Narai and serving nice North indian food (they have travel agency too, I've booked my hotel through them). |

We had excellent time in this hotel. We had booked two double rooms. Initially, we were given two rooms; which were with three single beds.
However after some persuation they changed it to Kingsize bed rooms. As it was smaller than the previous room and of inferior quality, we took up the matter with the General Manager and he was kind enough to give us two suit rooms. They were large, good, but old enough having some mentainence.
Ambience is very good. |

Stayed at the Narai for 2 nights & was very happy there. Had a room high up & the view out over Bangkok was great. Room was large & quite decent, nothing fancy, just like most 3-3.5 star hotels. Breakfast buffet was ok, not the best but it opens early which was good for us as we had an early flight out. Location is excellent, a short 3 block walk up to the Patpong night market. Also Narai is one of the major stop/pick-up points for day tours. Would stay there again.

We stayed at the Narai three times already. It's like a Ibis Hotel I guess, you know what you get. The rooms are clean but not knew. Always ask for a room in renovated part of the Hotel, they renovated one part a few years ago. Once we've had an upgrade and the room was truly great. The reason why we stay there is the area. Close to Skytrain which is our main way of transport, Patpong is always fun for a early drink and you can walk to the river (not recommend when it's truly HOT). Theres a Indian temple close by so you can watch the ceremonies and they let you in for free. Some overpriced and some great restaurants close by. We like to discover a city without tours so I don't know how the booking desk is. Overall, a no thrill hotel. I forgot to mention, booking directly at hotel can be cheaper, we've had some great bargans. AND the breakfast is, in my view, great as well (even japanese section)

We stayed at the Narai for 3 nights in early January 2009. The rooms were 1st class and the service excellent at all times. The breakfast buffet is simple but enjoyable - the only complaint was that sometimes you had to wait 10 minutes for a table Location wise it was fantastic - the Sky train is no more than a 10 minute walk as is Patpong Market. Word of advice - when leaving dont use the hotel taxi - they quoted us 800 Bhat to the airport- when really around 500 is reasonable. Overall would recommend on all levels. |

On our way to Sydney we stopped in Bangkok for three nights and our travel agent booked us in at the Narai Hotel.
Narai hotel is a clean and nice hotel in the centre of Bangkok. The major markets and shopping centers in just a 5 minutes taxi ride away. (Depending on traffic) A large breakfast buffet is included in the price so is also WiFi internet and access to the pool area with a pool bar.
We got upgraded from a Standard Room to a Superior Room. Our room look newly renovated.
One thing to be aware of is the taxi drivers standing write outside the hotel. This is guys who just want to trick unknowing tourist out of money. So if you want to book a taxi, do it through the hotel.
All in all, I had a very good experience at the Narai hotel.

My daughter and I spent 4 nights at this hotel. It was my second trip to Bangkok and had previously stayed at Holiday Inn on Silom road.
The hotel itself is very large and on first arriving was extremely busy. Staff were not particularly friendly but efficient. Our room on the 11th floor was comfortable but badly needing a re-furbish especially the bathroom. this hotel is located so well that it was only a five minute walk to the sky train and then seven minutes to MBK centre a must for shopping. we also walked to the night bazaar which is also wonderful for shopping.
The tour staff at the hotel were not particularly pleasant and lacked the ethusiasm of the ones in Phuket so we basically did our own thing and contacted our travel agent when we wanted to tour. the breakfasts were OK sometimes cold and the Pizza restaurant was great. Silom village lots of restaurants and street stalls are all along Silom road. we had a very pleasant and safe stay at the Narai even though the staff could do with a course in "happiness" I would probably stay there again when in Bangkok. I would recomment this hotel to all age groups, although probably not trendy enough for some!

I was pleasently surprised when I walked into my room for the first time, I was a bit worried after reading some bad reviews on Trip Advisior that it would be a dive! I'm also quite a hotel snob, as my boyfriend and I like to stay at 5 star hotels in Adelaide for special events.
The room was clean and tidy, we were on the superior floor and it has an amazing view. Room service was fairly quick, the french fries a bit salty though.
Breakfast was excellent! Asian, Australian and American on the menu, as was the dinner buffett! The front foyer of the hotel is beautiful, some of the staff are polite, some are not, this happens in all places of business so I didn't take much notice or complain.
Make sure you get to the bar for happy hour, 2 for 1 drinks, after a few long island teas i was on the floor!
The business centre is handy to email friends and family at home, but is a bit pricey. Also, water provided in your room is only free for the first two days, I popped one or two bottles in my bag to use on the days after. Otherwise, a bottle of water will cost you 110 baht, same price as a beer, which is about AU $6.
The hotel is close to tourist attractions and the sky train. I would stay here again if holidaying in Bangkok. |

The Narai was our oasis among the chaos in Bangkok. We didn't have any trouble at all. The room was clean and value for money. The Bed was two singles pushed together but the mattress on top was one, so you weren't sleeping on top an uncomfortable part in the middle of the bed. The breakfast was great. Allot of Variety. We looked forward to breakfast everyday.
The Narai was close enough to the Night Bazaar and Thai Boxing Stadium. We actually walked there. However I suggest a Tuk Tuk for 100bht would be better. There was free wireless internet.
We looked forward to Happy Hour in the Scenery Lounge where we got 2 for 1 drinks and entertainment from Syd & Carlos! Try the Bangkok Dream cocktail. It was the nicest cocktail I had during our whole trip of Thailand.
The only thing I can think of, just to be picky, was we were put in a smoking room. The smell wasn't that bad so I didn't bother complaining about it. So I don't know what the service would be like if I asked for a different room. I suggest if you choose to stay here make sure you make it clear if you want a non-smoking room because they won't ask you. Overall it was a lovely stay and we would stay there again. |

Typical 3* asian city centre hotel. Clean reasonable sized room with usual facilities in a very busy hotel. Buffet breakfast quite good for such a busy place. Choice of this hotel was based on location. Nearish to the river for the transport, 10 min walk behind Oriental hotel and near night market area, another 10 minute walk, and short taxi ride to Lumphinin night market are for food stalls and shopping. The Narai on Silom Road looks like a concrete bunker in the middle of a fairly boring set of likewise buildings on a busy Bangkok main road. Enter the lobby and the whole atmosphere changes.......friendly greetings, nice front restausrant and bar, classically beautiful 1970's style interior design (I am a 50s -something architecture freak), and a lift (elavator) lobby with that cool smoked glass aesthetic that just cries out for some soothing 'Muzak'. I love this place. Rooms are big and no-nosense. Bathrooms pretty good too. Everything works fine but I wish they would tear out the tubs and install shower stalls. Narai has full facilities for visitors....Tour Desk, Transport Station, Barber Shop / Beauty Parlor etc. Hey you middle-aged gents, try a haircut here. Includes a free ear de-wax by an real expert. Yikes! The Aussie haicut experience will never measure up. The free breakfast is just superb. Big, adequately air-conned dining room with plenty of variety plus fresh-cooked eggs if required. Pool area is a bit daggy with no wading section for children, but nice and quiet with little street noise intruding. Overall this is a little gem. Take a bow, Narai.
